Baza Tourist Office and Archaeological Museum

Baza is located in a plateau/depression, known since ancient tiems as La Hoya de Baza, whith an average height above the sea level around 1000 meters, which gives it a marked continentally climate and it’s surrounded by an imposing mountain belt with some exceeding 2000 meters, such as Sierra de Baza, La Sagra, Cazorla, Orce and Maria or Las Estancias. This is the reason for the denomination, in allusion to the amphitheater that forms the flat bottom.
