Cerro Jabalcón (Inselberg) (The great viewpoint of the Granada Geopark)
The Cerro del Jabalcón is a carbonated massif formed mainly by Jurassic limestones that rise up to 1492 m of altitude and that are part of the basement of the Guadix-Baza Basin, configuring, from a geomorphological point of view, the most important inselberg of the basin.
Its altitude and geographical position in the center of the intramontane depression and the Geopark itself, make it its main viewpoint, with a panoramic view of 360º, from where you can observe the more than 4000 km2 that occupy the Quaternary sediments of the basin and understand some of the most geological and geomorphological characteristics of the Guadix-Baza basin and, therefore, of its Geological History.
