Seismites of Galera and Castilléjar
Seismites of Galera and Castilléjar.
Seismic waves transform sediment into a kind of “quicksand”. The water in the pores of the sediment is expelled, separates the grain and converts the material into a viscous fluid (liquefaction). When the upper sediment is denser (thicker) than the lower one (thinner), these folds happen and are known as seismites.
